What makes our school special
- The excellent behaviour of our pupils: visitors and members of the local community often comment on how well behaved and polite our children are.
- Our pastoral care: each and every child is nurtured and their needs are met on an individual basis.
- Our exciting and ambitious curriculum: We love learning and the key to our success is making the learning fun, exciting and relevant to the children. We support this with a wide range of extracurricular activities, visitors to school and exciting off-site visits to the local area and further afield.
- Our Inclusive ethos: Each and every child and adult at Five Elms Primary school is treated as an individual with their bespoke needs met through a range of strategies. Being a flagship school for the Global Inclusive Teaching Initiative (GITI) sets us apart from other provisions, giving our staff an ‘edge’ on meeting children’s needs.
- Our relationship with our children and their families: We pride ourselves on building close relationships with the children and their families. We offer a great range of support for families and love to get families involved in their children’s learning.
- A fantastic staff: staff are committed to the children and think nothing of going above and beyond to meet their needs.
Five Elms Primary is a two-form entry school for children aged 3 to 11 years old located in Dagenham. Our school dates back to 1929 and is composed of:
- The Nursery, where our learning journey begins.
- 15 classrooms (2 reception, 4 key stage 1 and 9 key stage 2). Each of our classrooms is equipped with a class set of iPads that the children use to enhance their daily learning.
- Our wonderful library where children can go to enjoy books with their teacher and foster a love of reading and use their imagination.
- Our hall which is used for special events and assemblies.
- Our art gallery where you will find our budding artists work on display.
- Our gymnasium where our specialist PE coach teaches us how to stay fit and healthy.
- Our dining area which is a beautiful newly refurbished hall which allows children to enjoy their tasty lunches with their friends.
- Our playground. Five Elms Primary school is very lucky to have a large playground which is equipped with exciting play equipment, 2 football pitches, a vegetable patch and a wildlife garden and amazing forest area.
We are an extended school which means we offer care from 7.45 a.m. until 6:00 p.m. during term time. This includes a breakfast club, offering a delicious breakfast, a tea time club and a wide range of after school clubs.
Here at Five Elms, we believe that having a good start to the day is very important. All children are offered a free filled bagel at the start of each day.
